![]() RMLRA 2016 Awards Banquet Highlights The Rocky Mountain Legends Racing Association officially ended the 2015 racing season Saturday evening with the Awards Banquet at Unser Racing. The championship award going to Scotty Scott as he won the points championship, and took home the big tall trophy that went with all the honors. Scotty had many members of his family there and said how much it meant to him. His comment on Legend racing was that it is a family sport and gave credit to his dad who has helped since he started racing Legends. Members of his pit crew also did a great job on the race car. Scotty’s family had quite a background in racing as they spent many a day racing in Wyoming, Nebraska and wherever there was a race to go to in the area.TOP 10 DRIVERS 2015 1. #6 Scotty Scott 2. #30 Darrell J. All drivers in attendance were involved in various awards in envelopes and all went home with something good. Darrell J. Stewart and Jessica Savage were winners of a 2016 INEX membership. A special award, Track Promoters Award was given to Lee S. of Hwy 92 Raceway Park, Gering, Nebraska 2016 RMLRA Schedule President Mike Gallegos announced Saturday night that the schedule should be coming out very soon with about twenty six races. He did mention that there will be a weekend off each month. Also mentioned the fact that they had no control of tracks booking races. A business meeting will be held in February. More information when meeting has an official date set. I hope to see many of you there when we have this meeting. Thanks to all of you who were members of this organization this past season. Your membership fees helped this organization with its expenses. Be a member and have a voting privilege. A limit of two votes per car. Please contact me if you are buying a car and need a number. We have had a few numbers changed for the 2016 season, and several new drivers signed up. Also let me know if will not be racing this coming season if you haven’t by now. |
