Before the start of the races Saturday evening the RMLRA was told that there would be two features run. This was to set up some excitement for the Legends track championship. Kyle Clegg trailed Danny Medina by fourteen points at the start of the second feature. Although Kyle did win both features Danny Medina finished second in the feature to secure his 2016 track championship at Colorado National Speedway. Cody Dempster was the top finishing rookie at seasons end an was declared the Rookie of the Year. Congratulations to both drivers on their accomplishments at CNS during the 2016 season.

Yesterday the number ninety-nine of Mark Maldonado of Pueblo made his debut after just recently buying his car. We will look forward to seeing him next season.

We had twenty-eight Legends on hand yesterday. Two did not race. We now have approximately six months to think about next year. Do make sure that you fill out your paper work on how the season went for you. Our biggest weakness over the past two or three  seasons are the low car counts at the smaller tracks. If you plan to race in 2017, consider racing a few of these smaller tracks. It will improve your driving skills if you are new to Legends. If you need anything don’t hesitate to get in touch with me.
