![]() RMLRA NEWSLETTER JUNE 26, 2011 CNS FOLLOW UP Another good night of racing at Colorado National last night as the Irwin brothers of Albuquerque, NM. made their first visit of the season. Jason Irwin showed that he was just a little bit quicker then the rest of the cars and brought his number twelve car to the checkered flag in the twenty-five lap feature last night. Younger brother Justin making his first start at CNS finished fifth driving the number nine legend. A little information to pass along is that this race team races a very competitive schedule and puts many miles on their trailer hauling to races throughout the country. They will be in Las Vegas next weekend and will be back at CNS in two weeks according to my conversation with them in the pits after the race last night. Twenty-five cars were on hand last night, but we lost the number seventeen car of Scott Rickman during the final hot lap session as he and the number seventy-seven car made contact on the back stretch. Scott was making his first appearance of the season driving the seventeen car that was bought from Bill Yeros during the winter. The crew of Scott Rickman could not repair their car but the Brandon Moore car was repaired and finished fifteenth in the feature. Thanks to all of you that supplied parts and help to get the car back on the track. I did not get down to see who was helping out but most of the time, there never is a shortage of help from RMLRA members. The first Legend heat race was won by Chris Eggleston and Kyle Ray won the Trophy Dash. In the first heat race won by Eggleston, 0.119 separated the first three cars as they crossed the finish line. In the feature Chris Eggleston, Kyle Clegg, Mike Gallegos and Jason Irwin gave it their best effort but could not stay with Justin Irwin. One caution flag during the race, but other than that, it was a good Legend feature race. Good job drivers. Next up is the 2011 Liberty Classic, two days of National qualifiers next weekend at I-25 Speedway and Colorado National Speedway. It would be nice to see some of the cars that do not travel to Pueblo during the regular season, make the trip down there to support the program. 25 Lap Feature Results 1. Justin Irwin 2.
