Kyle Clegg wins Feature at CNS, Eggleston wins CNS track championship

Kyle Clegg had the ideal starting spot in the feature and took off and had a commanding lead to win the twenty-five lap feature Saturday evening. Several caution flags flew and closed the field of cars up foe several restarts but the veteran Legend driver had it all going for him and took the checkered flag ahead of Eggleston, Cooper, Gallegos and Scott.

There were twenty-seven cars in the pits last night and twenty-six started the feature. Tim Cooper driving his number thirty-nine car for the first time this season had some mechanical problems with the car as it made contact with the third turn wall in practice. Although the damage was small the decision to not race was made.

Chris Eggleston and Mike Gallegos were late getting to the track and did not get to qualify. They did run in the dash and were allowed to start the feature on the back row.

In qualifying Kyle Clegg was the top qualifier with a time of 18.689. In the first Legends Dash, Zach Witherwax won the race along with the trophy. With winning this race he also got to meet the fans and sign autographs at intermission. Kyle Clegg won the Legends Fast Dash.

Wayne Barlock wins 2014 RMLRA Championship

With a sixth place finish in Saturdays feature, and finishing two positions behind Mike Gallegos, Wayne Barlock has unofficially clinched the 2014 RMLRA Championship. Driving the yellow painted number three Legend, Wayne and his crew attended all of the races this season. Winning five features helped him to his championship. This is his second RMLRA Championship. He also won the award in 2009. To all of you who attended all the races in the chase for the championship, the RMLRA thanks you. With only one local race left, Colorado National Speedway will host the Challenge Cup this coming Saturday. I hope many of you can
race at this event.

Race Car Sold

Bill Ray has sold the number fifty-eight this past weekend to the Roe family in Thornton, CO. I was told that Travis Roe will drive the car. Travis is a fourteen year old and will be classified as a Young Lion. He will be moving up from the Quarter Midget Racing Association.
