bicycle accident. Ron won his third consecutive feature in the car and climbed
out of the car. While standing on the door, he bent over and kissed the #0 on
top of his car and thanked God and Garret for riding with him during the race
and bringing his sons number to the winners circle. Ron had told me earlier
that the Late Model would have been Garret’s next race car. Ron also mentioned
to me that he considered racing the Legend car but was unable to do it. The car
and all parts have been sold. The memories will last forever. God bless this

<p style="color:rgb(255, 255, 255)"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Remember when you started
your first feature in a race car? Chances are that you were not on the front
row, and all you thought about was the butterflies that was in your stomach and
all you wanted to do was get through the first two turns, and stay out of
everybody’s way, on your way to finishing the race. I think I can say that we
have had a lot of first year Legend racers with us the past few seasons and
some are headed to the front rows for better starting positions. Several of the
tracks that we race on have you start in the position that you finished in your
heat race. Sort of puts the driver in the position to drive his car to the
front for that good starting position. There are a few who are taking their
time and learning to get a feel for racing their Legends. That goes back to the
old saying, to go fast, sometimes you have to run slow. Keeping the car in one
piece and rolling the car onto the trailer at the end of the night is the goal
for many of these drivers. For those cars that have not been to the track this
season the RMLRA hopes to have you racing soon. Racing a Legend is a lot of fun
and it does involve travelling to race tracks. I can remember my first season
of racing, when very few people had trailers and pulled their cars (1949 Chevy)
to the track with the aid of a tow bar bolted on to the front bumper. This was
the early version of street stocks. You might say we raced locally in those
days. Not a lot of bumping in those early days of racing. If you messed up the
front end you might not be able to tow the car home until Monday when the track
reopened for the workers at the track. Those were the days. Legend racing in
Colorado has been good to many a driver who has climbed into their cars. You
don’t see a lot of open trailers any more and for sure no one brings the car to
the track with a tow bar. Racing has changed even to the point of installing
water coolers in the trailers for those hot summer days. The racing season is
long and you can race as much as you want with our cars. The biggest problem is
we live out west in an area of the country, where you do have to travel many
miles to race.<span>  </span></span><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><span><br /><br /></span>Just a reminder to make
your motel reservations in Gering for the Rocky Mountain Classic. As mentioned
before we race in Gering on Friday night and then travel to Colorado National
for Saturdays race, and then on to Big Country for Sunday night. This schedule
has been changed from previous years and may change your plans on traveling
after the races.</span><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><br />Motel 8, Gering 308-635-1600</span><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><br />Monument Inn, Gering 308-436-1950 </span><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><br />Comfort Inn Gering/Scottsbluff 308-632-7510</span><span style="font-family:Arial,sans-serif"><br /><br /></span><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Have fun race safely. <p style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;color:rgb(255, 255, 255)"><font size="2">Wayne Barlock starting
from the inside front row took off at the drop of the green flag and won the
twenty five lap feature by a few car lengths over Kyle Ray, Kyle Clegg, Corey
Seip and David Hondel. This feature race went green, white and checker. It was
a very good race and congratulations to all sixteen drivers who made the trip
to Big Country to race with the RMLRA. Terry Plummer took home the Trophy Dash
win and Wayne Barlock and L. Scotty Scott won heat races. Corey Seip had the
top qualifying time, with a 14.042. The top eight cars in qualifying were
separated by 0.251. The feature winner Barlock did not qualify for the Trophy
Dash. It is the only one he has missed this season. Federal tires are still
trying to be figured out with the handling problems that come with them.
Several drivers continue to use up the BF Goodrich tires that are in there
possession. Sooner or later they will be gone and those who have been trying to
figure out this new tire should be on page two while the others look at page
one hoping to find the set up for the Federal tires. The track cooled down
after a hot afternoon of timing, and the cars were hooked up and ran strong in
the twenty five lap feature<span><br /><br /></span>Corey Seip the top
qualifier last night pulled out on the track last night for the Trophy Dash
only to have his #7 Legend pushed off the track when the engine quit running.
Electrical wiring problems were found and Corey started the feature and
finished fourth. Pete Dellarco’s #13 sat in the pits with electrical problems
last night and with half the crews in the Pits the trouble was found and it
also had to do with the electrical system of the engine. Pete finished tenth in
the feature.<span><br /><br /></span>Friday nights racing at
Hwy 92 was limited to four cars as several cars that indicated they would be
there, had to with draw from making the trip. Kyle McCartney swept the racing
with a Trophy Dash win, heat race and the fifteen lap feature due to only four
cars starting. Phil Peconi, Terry Plummer and Chris Cooper were the four cars
that made the trip to race. Also information coming out of Gering, the Country
Kitchen that was our gathering spot after the races has been closed and the
group met at Shari’s on Friday night for bench racing and food. Legend Racing
will return to Hwy 92 on Friday, August 3rd. This will be a part of
the Rocky Mountain Classic which runs three days and will award all RMLRA
drivers one hundred points towards the point’s championship for 2010.<span><br /><br /></span>It was good to see Gary
Kopp back out on the track and many weeks being down for repairs to his # 4
Legend car.<span>  </span>Brittany Duncan will leave
for college this week as she heads to the University of Northern Colorado.<span>  </span>Wayne Barlock will also be heading out to
Colorado University for his education. Anybody else heading to college please
contact me. I also had the opportunity to talk with Ken MacEwen<span>  </span>from Ft. Collins yesterday and they are
looking at joining the Legend racing program next season. His son Cole has been
on the track at PPIR test driving the Legend race car this summer.<span><br /><br /></span>Racing will return to Big
Country next weekend and then a weekend off before the three day weekend of the
Rocky Mountain Classic. Bob Peck will fill in as the Raceceiver Official next
Saturday night.</font></p>

I-25 Saturday night. After a brief rain shower, racing at I-25 was held with
about five divisions of cars on hand.<span><br /><br /></span>Danny Medina driving his #15 set the quick
time for the legends with a 14.226. Kyle Clegg takes home the trophy in the
trophy dash, while Mike Morris #23 and Bill Seip #07 win the heat races. Jim
Stevens and Eric Stedman made contact together in the second heat race and
although both were reported to be ok the #1 car of Eric Stedman was severely
damaged. This car and driver have been through a lot of tough times this season
as a rookie. Neither car started the feature.<br /><br />The feature race started thirteen cars and
was called on the twenty third lap, when rain started to fall on the racing
surface. Kyle Clegg was leading the race when a car spun in front of him and
three cars were involved in the crash. Kyle Clegg was declared the winner. The
checkered flag was to be thrown because of the rain at the start finish line.
The track went back to the last completed lap and awarded Clegg the win.
Medina, Barlock, C. Seip and McCartney fined out the top five. It really was a
very good race as the field was inverted for the start. <br /><br />Next weekend the RMLRA travels to Gering,
Nebraska for a Friday night race and on Saturday night racing will be held at
Big Country Speedway in Cheyenne, Wyoming. It has been reported that several
cars are going to make the trip.</font></p>

continues this weekend with racing at I-25 Speedway in Pueblo. Just a reminder
to everyone who has not been out racing this season, that we do have two
weekends in a row coming up in August where our car counts have been down.
Racing the weekend of August 6-7 the Legends have the opportunity to race at
PPIR on a Friday night and I-25 on Saturday. The car counts on the last races
when the Legends raced at these two tracks were attended very poorly. If you
have the time to get out and race on Friday night come and join us, as we
welcome all cars on those nights. I know that it is a Friday night but the
races start at 8:00 PM and working all day might allow you the chance to go
racing.<br /><br />I have received some
emails from our new drivers Mike Morris and Eric Higgs on there trip to the
Million Dollar Race last weekend. Both drivers were excited to get the
experience of racing at such a big occasion. Mike Morris as you probably know
suffered some damage to his car but hopes to have it repaired quickly and be
back on the track real soon. Eric told me he was pretty much right behind the
accident that Mike was involved in and saw everything happen.</font></p>

involved in spin outs, and were collected up in the wrecks that followed. Kyle
Clegg won the feature last night when it was set up for a green, white checker
finish after long delays for clean ups during the Legend twenty five lap
feature. The race I believe was shortened to nineteen laps. Wayne Barlock, Jon
Krizman and Darrell Stewart had a great race for second place finishing several
car lengths behind Clegg. The sixty six car had the field covered last night
and was very fast.<br /><br />Heat race winners were Clegg and the trophy dash was won by Pete
Dellarco.<span><br /><br /></span>I received a email from

the race. I wonder how much Uncle Sam takes from that winning.</font></p>

RMLRA will be back racing at Colorado National Speedway. The first hot lap
session runs from 1:30-2:00 PM. This will be the sixth race of the season at
CNS. With two rain outs there are only five more races at CNS. Darrell Stewart
has a three point lead over Wayne Barlock for the track championship. Several
drivers are not to far back and could move up quickly. Saturday nights races
will be for CNS points only. Due to the Legend Million race this weekend, I have
not heard of any track that will give National points.<br /><br />The Legend Million is
being held this weekend and I would like to pass along some good luck to Scott
Griffith #29 and Mike Morris #23 as they travel a long distance to Charlotte,
North Carolina to take part in the big race. As most of you know Scott is from
back there and has raced at the Charlotte Motor Speedway many times, before
moving to Colorado Springs. The Legends Nation web page has a lot of coverage
on the big show (<a href="http://www.legendsnation.com/" rel="nofollow">www.legendsnation.com</a>)<br /><br />Have you bought your
Rocky Mountain Classic t-shirt yet? Make sure you sell your shirts and get the
money turned into Kyle McCartney. Take your shirts to the track and hang them
up on your trailer if you have room and try to sell them.<span><br /><br /></span>Another car has been sold
and bought by Kevin Kurtz of Brighton. He has purchased the #27 car that was
going to be raced by Gary Higgs a couple of years ago and only made it to the
track one time, that I know of. The car was previously owned by Tom Hansen of
Laramie, Wyoming. Kevin has asked for the #44 for his car and hopes to be out
racing with us soon. Another car in our area may possibly be sold real soon.<br /><br />See you in the Pits.</font></p>

was on hand last night at Big Country Speedway. After a brief afternoon shower
the sun came out and with the temps dropping about twenty degrees. Corey Seip
ended up with the quick time for the Legends with a 14.045. In the eight car
trophy dash Wayne Barlock came from the back row to win the Trophy Dash.<span>  </span>AJ Canada and Corey Seip finished close
behind. A twelve lap heat race with all eight cars participating had Kyle Ray
picking up the checkered flag. Corey Seip and AJ Canada finished right behind
him.</font><font size="2"><span><br /><br /></span>The feature was a thirty
lap event with Scotty Scott and Phil Peconi on the front row. Scott led briefly
and Peconi got inside Scott and took the lead and held it until about halfway
through out the race. Barlock and Seip finally passed Peconi and raced bumper
to bumper for a good fourteen laps. Corey was in position to try to pass but
raced him clean and could not get his car around Barlock. Peconi and Scott
raced for third and stayed a few car lengths behind the leader of the race.
Kyle Ray finished fifth. This win for Wayne Barlock, was his second feature win
of the 2010 RMLRA season. </font><font size="2"><span><br /><br /></span>Friday night the RMLRA
was unable to field enough cars to race at Gering, Nebraska and it was hoped
that a good field of cars would be on hand for the races at Big Country. It
looks as though many cars have not been repaired yet and engines have become a
big problem for the engine department at US Legends. Hope that many of you will
be able to race next Saturday at Colorado National Speedway. Drivers and car
owners, we need your support. Colorado National Speedway usually has a good
field of cars for their races.<span>  </span>Their
will be no National points for this race, as the Million Dollar Legend Race at
Charlotte is the main focus for Legends next weekend. See you in the Pits.</font><font size="2"><br /><br />Trophy Dash</font>

<p style="font-family:verdana,sans-serif;color:rgb(255, 255, 255)"><font size="2">Kyle Clegg, driving his
#66 Legend led the entire race Saturday night at Colorado National Speedway and
took his car to the winners circle last night for his second feature win this
season at Colorado National.<span>  </span>Earlier in
the evening Kyle won the first heat race of the evening. Wayne Barlock won the
second heat race. The twenty five lap feature went green, white and checker.
Justin Irwin from Albuquerque, NM started sixth in last nights feature but got
boxed in and had trouble getting clear of traffic to chase Clegg. Irwin and
Barlock had a great race going between them for several laps until he got by
Barlock to chase Clegg. Handling problems late in the race kept him from
closing in on the feature winner. Wayne Barlock finished right behind Irwin.
With his third place finish he moves back ahead of Corey Seip by three points
in the RMLRA point’s chase. Terry Plummer finished fourth last night after
figuring out the electrical problem that caused him problems last week. Darrell
Stewart just edged out Jon Krizman at the finish line for fifth place. Darrell
still leads the CNS point’s race by three points over Wayne Barlock.<span><br /><br /></span>In talking to many drivers
last night, the new Federal tires are still a problem in trying to get their
cars to handle as well as the older BFG tires from years past. In a comment in
my last Newsletter several people may have thought that tires were hard to come
by. The tire problem that was one earlier in the season is not one now as there
are tires available in our area at Leary Racing Products. <br /><br />Saturday Night CNS Results.</font></p>

Legends will be back at Colorado National Speedway this weekend. Plan to be
there. If there is not enough action on the track, the Speedway will have their
annual Fourth of July fire works show right after the races. There should be a
large crowd on hand to watch these races.<span><br /><br /></span>We need a head count on
who is planning to race next Friday night at Gering, Nebraska. Please respond
on this as we need to plan our trip and Larry Lambert our Tech official needs
to have an idea on what to expect in the way of cars. The weekend racing then
moves to Big Country Speedway in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This race track would be
good for all our first year drivers to race at. Hopefully we can get some cars
to make this trip.<span><br /><br /></span>Korry Tillbury from New
Mexico has informed us of some more racing in the Albuquerque area. Korry had
two Legends racing with the RMLRA at I-25 Speedway earlier this season. Maybe
your heading out on vacation to New Mexico.<span>
</span>Plan ahead and take the race car with you.<br /><br />From Korry: "Harold, I know you guys already have a lot of racing up there, but
Sandia Speedway will be racing Legends and Bandoleros  on Friday nights
when racing Saturday’s.  The next six races will be on the 4/10s. If
anyone can make it, that would be great.  Thanks Korry<span>"<br /><br /></span>Greg O’Donnell is possibly

extra time to get underway last night as rain and thunder started rolling in
about fifteen minutes before the races were scheduled to get under way.  <br /><br />Danny Medina making his
first appearance of the season at CNS won an exciting feature race over Chris
Eggleston by less than a half of a car length. The two cars raced side by side
for many laps, with Medina holding on to the inside groove and held off
Eggleston who came from all the way from the back to challenge him for the win.<span><br /><br /></span>A multi car crash on lap
five in turn four, took out six cars and when the checkered flag finally came
out only fifteen of the twenty four cars that started the race were running. It
was a tough night for Legend cars as many cars were hauled off the track, due
to contact in the race. Jason Stewart driving his # 57 car, was involved in the
lap five crash. When everything came to a halt, Jason had rolled his car. After
climbing out of his car, the track helpers reported him to be ok. It was later
reported that he did injure his shoulder. The Stewart Racing team plans to
repair the car and have Jason in the seat for Saturday night. For all of those
cars that had to leave the track Saturday night, there are going to a lot of
repairs to be made this week if those cars expect to be back on the track for
Saturday night’s races. I’ll put my money on the car’s being back on the track,
if parts are available.<span><br /><br /></span>Winning the Heat Races were

Lambert, introducing himself to a driver just arriving at the track.
Lambert’s an official for the Legends car series. This is a spec series
and Lambert’s job includes inspecting the cars to insure they have only
approved parts installed in the specified manner.<br /><br />Members of the Rocky Mountain Legend Racing Association visit I-25
Speedway as part of their four-track touring circuit. They also race at
Colorado National, north of Denver, Big Country in Wyoming, and Gearing
in Nebraska. (They’re looking at the possibility of racing Pikes Peak
International Raceway, a one-mile oval track between Colorado Springs
and Pueblo that used to host NASCAR Nationwide series and Indy Racing
League dates until 2005.)  The club is sanctioned by governing body
INEX, and that’s who Lambert represents today.<br /><br />The Legends series is a pretty big deal as non-professional racing goes;
the series was developed by well-known racing promoter H. A. “Humpy”
Wheeler while he was running Charlotte Motor Speedway. In 1992, he
started the series, based on 5/8th scale models of classic roadsters
powered by Yamaha 1250cc motorcycle engines. The goal was to make racing
available at a reasonable cost. The cars are manufactured by US Legend
Cars International and the rules prohibit modifications; the idea is to
create a level playing field and to keep people from dumping loads of
money into mods in pursuit of speed. <br /><br />Because US Legend Cars International is owned by Speedway Motorsports,
Inc., the drivers have access to run on some major tracks around the
country, like Charlotte Motor Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway,
and The Bullring in Las Vegas. <br /><br />Today, though, these racers, over 20 of them, are at I-25 Speedway.
Larry and his son, Don, are inspecting the cars as they arrive. Larry
found his way into the role by accident: one day, he was in the pits at a
race when one of the two officials failed to show.  The call went out
for a volunteer to help the one who did, and Larry stepped up. Now, he’s
in charge.<br /><br />The relationship between Larry and the competitors is a friendly one,
and the worst offense he finds is a discrepancy between where to track’s
rental transponders will fit on the car versus the ones drivers own. A
short discussion fixes that issue.<br /><br />Legends cars are driven by racers of all ages. The younger ones may see
the series as a stepping stone to bigger and better things, perhaps a
racing career.  Professionals that have seen seat time in a Legends car
include Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Reed Sorenson, David Ragan, Joey Logano,
and brothers Kyle and Kurt Busch. <br /><br />“These cars are hard to drive,” says Larry, explaining that budding
racers learn vital car-control skills by running in Legends cars.<br /><br />Fifteen-year-old Pete Dellarco is perfecting his skills in one this
year. He began driving quarter-midgets at age nine, then moved to the
Legends series last year. Pete’s a rarity in the pits: a
first-generation racer. He told his parents, Buck and Ann, he wanted to
race cars early on, and, despite their efforts to encourage him to play
stick-and-ball sports, he hasn’t wavered. (He has played football,
however.) Pete is a true race fan: if it has wheels and a motor, he’s
interested.<br /><br />If you can drive one of these cars, you can drive anything.<br />
Buck, who works as a money manager, has done all he could to support
that passion, even learning how to be a crew chief by trial and error.
He asked for help with set-ups from other competitors (they were happy
to help) and made the investment necessary to <br />
help Pete.<br /><br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align:center">Buck, Pete and
Ann Dellarco discuss strategy</td></tr>
</tbody></table>“If he runs well, he might get picked up” by a team,
says Buck, pointing to fellow Coloradan Chris Eggleston, who ran Legends
and can now be found in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. He and
Ann have carefully guided his development, but you don’t get the sense
they’re “soccer parents.”  They’ve kept Pete from moving too quickly,
even putting him in the back of the field if he happened to qualify “too
well” as a rank rookie, to keep him from becoming a threat to wreck the
field if he made a beginner’s mistake. “Besides,” Buck says with a
smile, “it was passing practice.”<br /><br />For all of Ann’s motherly concern for her son’s safety, most of the cars
in the series carry a reminder of our mortality, in the form of a slash
of black tape over their number. It’s a “mourning band” for a fellow
racer, Garrett O’Neill, 14, who was killed a few weeks earlier, not in
an accident on the track, but while performing tricks on his bicycle. He
fell and struck his head on cement. Perhaps with that in mind, Ann
acknowledges the inherent danger that comes with motorsports, but allows
that she was more tense watching Pete get knocked around on the
football field than she is watching him race.<br /><br />Nearby, a father-son pair of drivers preps for the day’s action. Gary
Kopp, 67, and his son, Derek, 17, work on each other’s cars. Their story
is sort of reversed from the usual family situation, too: Gary got into
Legends racing because Derek was involved and Gary wanted to spend time
with him. Gary has a racing background of a different sort, though,
having come from over a decade running vintage Formula Vee cars on road
courses. Gary says he can “keep up” with the younger drivers, which
belies the fact that he finished 5th in RMLRA points in 2009 and was
voted Rookie of the Year. <br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align:center">Gary gets ready

</tbody></table>Gary retired from a job as a pilot with United Airlines
in 2003 and now works for the FAA with a schedule that gives him time to
do garage work on the two cars as well as time to race them. “You do
most of the work on the cars at home,” he says. “You just unload them
and go at the track.” <br /><br />Unlike Pete Dellarco, Derek isn’t looking toward a career in racing. He
loves to compete, but knows he’s not going to make the cut as a
professional driver. When Derek does stop, Gary says he’ll quit, too.
“I’ve been racing on weekends for ten years. I have no idea what
weekends off are like,” he laughs.<br /><br />The Legend cars are kind of funny, in a way: they're tiny little things,
and thanks to their motorcycle-engine heritage, they sound like a swarm
of angry bees when they run in a pack. But they're fast, too. <br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align:center">Derek Kopp races
Chris Cooper for the lead.</td></tr>
</tbody></table><br /><br /><br /><br />The father and son end up running in the same trophy
dash tonight. Derek, in his 24 car, is pretty fast and works his way up
to second, but it happens right when the caution flag flies and he’s
moved back a couple of spots. Back under green, he gets up to second
once again and is challenging the 34 car driven by rookie Chris Cooper. <br /><br />Another caution, and now Kopp is right behind Cooper. What happens next
depends on whose interpretation you believe.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br />As the pack comes into turn four, headed for the green again, Derek is
right on Cooper’s bumper, and when the flag waves, Derek hits the 34,
hooks him, and turns him, causing a chain-reaction pileup.<br /><br />Derek is sent to the back of the field for rough driving. “He was
pushing the 34 through turn four and spun him when the green came out,”
says Track Manager Mike Lippincott, who was watching from the exit of
pit road and made the call. “He caused this,” Lippincott continues,
gesturing at the track.<br /><br />A fellow driver walks by and says, “That was a bad call.”
But no protest is filed, and the result stands.<br />
Cooper gets his spot back. To his credit, Derek makes up several
positions in the few remaining laps.<br /><br />Derek is unhappy, claiming Cooper missed a shift and that caused his 24
to run into the 34.  A fellow driver walks by and says, “That was a bad
call.” But no protest is filed, and the result stands. <br /><br />Until, that is, Dan Clegg, a member of the RMLRA Board of Directors, and
the father of racer Kody Clegg, approaches Pit Steward Aaron Ford to
complain. He is worried that allowing rookie Chris Cooper to start on
the pole for the Main could lead to an expensive mess if he misses a
shift or makes another mistake in front of the 20+ car field. <br /><br />Clegg and Ford initially look like they’re headed for a major argument,
with Ford claiming the INEX officials wanted the lineup to be set the
way it was, and Clegg pointing out that rookies usually start in back to
avoid just the problems Clegg is describing. The discussion becomes
heated. Finally, Lippincott steps in, and after a conference, the
decision is made re-set the field and move the 34 back for the start of
the race.<br /><br />Buck Dellarco understands the concern, calling the potential alternative
“carnage.” The change also puts a couple of very fast, aggressive
drivers up front. Pete sees the reasoning behind it too, saying that,
while watching them work their way through the field is entertaining for
the crowd, these drivers aren’t afraid to punt a slower car that holds
them up for too long. <br /><br />In the end, one of these drivers, Danny Medina, takes the checkers
first. Pete Dellarco ends up 10th, Gary Kopp 11th, Derek Kopp 15th, and
rookie Chris Cooper finishes 17th.

the Colorado National Speedway for the next two weekends. Hot laps begin at
1:00 PM this Saturday, with the Legends first heat race scheduled for 5:00 PM.
It has been several weeks since we last appeared at the track and as always we
seem to have a good turn out of cars at this speedway. We have had our share of
bad luck this season with engines and cars making contact on the track.
Hopefully several of these cars will be back soon.<span><br /><br /></span>July 4th weekend
this season has the RMLRA with one scheduled race. Thanks to the committee for
the break in the schedule. We have been known to race 2-3 nights on this
holiday weekend.<span><br /><br /></span>The RMLRA points have
defending champion, Wayne Barlock with a slight edge over Corey Seip. AJ Canada
and Bill Seip are in third and fourth place. These four drivers have raced at
all the point races so far this season. Brittany Duncan, Kyle Clegg and Derek
Kopp are among the top cars in the early point’s race.<span><br /><br /></span>Are you racing the weekend
of July 9-10? This two day race will be held in Gering, Nebraska and Cheyenne,
Wyoming. Make your motel reservations now in case you haven’t done so already.
The number twenty of Tony Avolio, Scottsbluff, NE. is ready for us come to town
so he can race his Legend. Steve Newton number ninety also from Scottsbluff
usually gets his opportunity to get out and meet and race with us. This is not
a RMLRA point’s race, but it will give you a chance to get used to the track
for the National qualifier Labor Day weekend. This is a good track for young
drivers to race. If you are a new car owner and want to get some seat time,
this is the track to race on. The track is not banked very much and the speeds
are a little slower. Plan now to attend this race.</font></p>

site. Associate memberships are welcome.<span><br /><br /></span>Just want to inform or

with the RMLRA. Jim has been racing his Legends car since 1996. He has also
been very active with presenting his car at car shows in the off season and
helping to promote Legends racing in our area. He has helped with the promotion
of celebrity Legends races at Colorado National Speedway the past two years.
Thanks Jim for your dedication to our sport.<span><br /><br /> </span>Just a reminder to check
out the RMLRA standings on our web site. It is still very early in the season
and Wayne Barlock and Corey Seip have raced all the scheduled races and sit at
the top of the list as of the last race.<span><br /><br /></span>It won’t be long before we
make the trip to Gering, Nebraska for a Friday night race and then back to Big
Country Speedway for a Saturday night race. Make your motel reservation now as
it is a small community and rooms may be hard to come by. Check with me as I
have numbers to several of the area motels. Although no RMLRA points are
awarded for the first two races their, national points are awarded. The Labor
Day three day Rocky Mountain Classic will reward drivers who make the trips to
participate, one hundred points per night. This year the Classic has a change
if not already noted. Friday night at Hwy 92 Raceway Park in Gering, Nebraska.
Saturday night at Colorado National Speedway and Sunday night at Big Country
Speedway in Cheyenne, WY.<span><br /><br /></span>A memo to drivers that
have requested numbers for the 2010 season and have not joined the membership,
and are not racing. Your number will be removed from the drivers list on the
RMMLRA web page. Please contact me as I will hold your number if your plans are
to race.</font></p>
