The 2012 Awards Banquet is drawing near and we want to invite everybody that has an interest in Legend race cars to this big event.  If you are planning to race or just an interested fan in 2013 make plans to meet with many of the drivers for this evening of fun and good food. This event will take place January 12, 2013, at Rossi Catering in Wheat Ridge.  This is the same site of last years Awards Banquet.  As the date gets closer, two cars are at the top of the points standings with Kyle Clegg leading Corey Seip by twenty points.  As we know, there will be two dates drawn at the banquet and those dates and points will be eliminated from the points standings.  Will it change the final points outcome?  Chances are that it will.  Make sure you are their to join in on the activities of the evening.  Points checks will be handed out to possibly the top ten RMLRA drivers.  Awards to the Championship driver, Rookie of the year, Young Gun Award, Sportsmanship Award, Best Looking Car and Most Improved Driver. Are you one of these contenders?  Please RSVP as soon as possible as we have limited seating.

The RMLRA membership will meet February 2, 2013, at Leary Racing, 1990 Navajo ST.  Denver, CO. 80223, for election of officers that will be leaving their positions from the 2012 season, and all conversations leading to the 2013 season.  In 2006 the active Legend drivers got together in the off season and formed the RMLRA.  The RMLRA was formed to promote Legend racing in the states of Colorado, Wyoming and Nebraska. Let us go into the 2013 season with a strong determination to keep this program strong and growing.  Without your dedication we would not be the strong racing group that race fans like to watch race on race days.  At last years meeting, Mike Leary spoke about upcoming events at the tracks and Tech officials discussed several thoughts on car inspections. If you have something to discuss, please take care of it at this meeting.  As most of you know INEX controls the rules for the Legends cars and there are not any changes that I know of from last season.  Locally the RMLRA has had a tire rule in effect for races at our tracks.  Basically you race with the tire that you qualify with.  If a tire is damaged in a heat race, you tell the Tech official and you may replace that tire. The only other rule that comes into play is the fuel rule.  This should be one of the top discussions at the meeting.  Your 2013 rule book will come to you with your INEX membership.  The rule books and INEX license were late getting delivered last spring, but I personally monitor the memberships as they are being paid to INEX. Drivers for 2013 there is a discount on your INEX license good only till January 1, 2013.  You can save thirty dollars by signing up early.  I sent out information on this several weeks ago.
