The RMLRA will take to the track this weekend May 6, at Colorado National Speedway. Pit gates open at noon and practice starts at 2:00 PM. Racing has a new starting and will begin at 6:30 PM Looking for the weather to give us a break so we can get back on the track. Three cars were on the track to practice at Big Country on Saturday.  The #03, #17 and #30 found good weather to practice. Those three cars were Darrell Stewart, BreAnn Adkison and young Darrell J. Stewart. It was young Darrellʼs first time on the track with the Legend, and was learning how to get around the track. He is moving up from Quarter Midgets and will be on the tracks after his birthday in August.

Down at I-25 on Saturday it was reported to me that #12 Cody Castor and #42 Pat Manchengo were the only two cars to show up. My informant also told me that he did leave early and maybe somebody else showed up to practice.  If you need to get on the track to practice, I-25 will be hot lapping for a couple of more weeks. All new drivers that have never raced before should try to get to the track to practice before racing.  referably a shorter track with less speed.

Before leaving for the track this Saturday. Make sure if you are new to racing, that you have your battery charged up along with your transponder. All rookie first year drivers must have their rear bumber marked with yellow tape or paint to indicate your rookie status. I-25 will still be open for practice in case you feel the need to practice for the next few weeks.


A three day weekend of racing will be on your schedule in May and it includes three differant tracks on those three days.

Starting in Gering, Nebraska on Friday evening we hope to draw a good field of cars. If you are looking for motel reservations the Super 8 Motel in Scottsdale is managed by Sandy Thompson the Hwy 92 track manager. She has set aside ten rooms for that evening. Room rates are $46.79 plus tax. Each room has two beds. Call 308-635-1600 and ask for the HWY 92 Raceway Park rate. The parking lot is big and plenty of room to work on the cars before heading out to Cheyenne, Wyoming on Saturday. It is also a good area for restaurants.
