If you are thinking about racing at the US Legends Asphalt Nationals (Oct. 12-14) in Las Vegas at The Bullring, there are four opportunities to qualify for the feature race. We live in an area where there will be four chances to qualify starting this weekend at I-25 Speedway in Pueblo. Cars that win their class will have their names forwarded to INEX after the race. Later in the summer you will be notified that you have qualified and you are all set to make the trip to Las Vegas to compete. Many tracks will hold these qualifier races. If you go to the USLCI web site you can keep up with all the Legend car news pertaining to the Asphalt Nationals. Other qualifying dates are Colorado National Speedway July 2nd, and Hwy 92 and Big Country Speedway are scheduled on back to back dates August 25-26. One thing to remember is that on these race dates after the first one that their may be a repeat winner. In that case the second place car gets the qualification spot.

There is a good chance that we will be back on Raceceiver channel #165 this weekend. I-25 also was on the #1031 and we do not need to be with them on that channel. I am looking forward to my first trip to Pueblo for the season and I look forward to seeing you there. We have a few cars from the southern part of the state that have not raced as of yet and looking forward to seeing you at the track this weekend if you can make it.

Just a comment from your reporter on last weeks races. We had a lot of caution flags Saturday evening. With the addition of thirty-two cars starting the feature there were accidents looking for a race. Not to take anything away from the winners and the cars up front, drivers who don’t have a fast car should be looking for a way of picking up your speeds. Everybody racing into turns one and two at the start of the race is where a lot of trouble begins. Remember the old saying that you can’t win the race if you don’t finish.
