 Clegg wins twice at CNS Intermountain Races rained out Saturday evening at Colorado National Speedway with forty-four Legend Cars on hand to race. With the high car count as several weeks ago a “B” main were ran with three cars moving up to the “A” main. Four races were run and four different winners. Ryan Scott driving the #53 out of Colorado Springs won Main #1 and move up to the #2 Fast “A” main. Cody Dempster driving a Legend for the first time since 2018, after moving up to the late model division was driving the #9 car of Jason Irwin and won the first of the two fast mains of the evening. A accident on the first lap of the second main, removed him from the field with several other cars. In the second round of Legend main events, Cassidy Hinds a first year Young Lion won the race. In the fast main a familiar look on the track had Chris Eggleston and Kyle Clegg battling it out from the start and in the end Kyle Clegg was the winner. Congratulations to these winners. There will be no RMLRA racing this weekend. There is rumor that the Legends will run a fifty lap feature on July 18th. We ran a fifty lap race many years ago and it was very close on fuel for those engines that were being used. Bandolero Main winners were #77 Chasen Groff winning the fast Main and #52 Nic Wall winning the second main which featured the slower cars. A total of sixteen Bandoleros were on hand to race. I would like to take time and give Jim Nordhougen a big thank you for allowing many of our new drivers the opportunity to run the “B” mains of twenty-five laps to allow them the time to learn to drive and race their cars. Rain at Intermountain Speedway The program allowed the racers time to qualify and run several heat races before the rains came and the races had to be cancelled.
