![]() 2016 RMLRA Season Racing Season Ends Saturday Oct. 1 at CNS The season unofficially began February 27th with the annual membership meeting and election of officers to lead the organization through the upcoming season. Month, weeks and days later the last local race will be raced. Many drivers may push their cars into the garage and take a break and possibly go on vacation. For possibly a few, one more trip is left to accomplish their goals that was set for the 2016 season. A trip to Waterford, CT for the Asphalt Nationals to race next weekend is their goal. Local driver Scotty Scott sits atop the Masters division as the season all over the country comes to an end. To win the Masters Championship he must do very good in the feature race. He leaves on Wednesday to make the trip to the Nationals. The Wildlife Racing Team of DL and DJ Stewart will be headed out on Monday to Connecticut to race their cars and bring home a championship trophy. DJ had a sixth place finish in last years race. DL Stewart had to rebuild his car to race after a accident heavily damaged his car.After working all night on his car he started the feature and finished fifteenth out of twenty-six cars.They would like to thank Napa Auto Parts of Cheyenne, Fortress Iron, Dupont Tyvek and DuraVent for all of their support. Adam Pechman is also going to race next weekend. Adam raced in the championship race last year in South Carolina and had a very good finish placing fourth in the championship of the Semi-Pro division. Colorado National Speedway Championship to be won this weekend Danny Medina, Chris Eggleston and Kyle Clegg are at the top of the CNS point standings separated by twenty-six points. Forty-three points are available on Saturday evening and one of these drivers will become the track champion. Try and support this last race of the season. Gates open @ 1:00 PM Practice starts @ 3:00 PM Racing starts @ 6:30 PM In the chase for the RMLRA championship it appears that Scotty Scott has defended his championship from 2015. The top five cars of Pechman, Pachello, Dempster and Hulvey have raced twenty or more races this season. |
