![]() Week off and some maintenance tips I received a phone call Friday, and he asked me to pass along a tip on heims or heim joints that are on your race cars. I did go into the parts book that is on line and it looks like there are approximately ten of these located on the front and rear suspension. Check them out and see if you can detect any wear on these parts. Maybe you can talk to someone who has raced several years and ask them how often they should be replaced. I am not selling parts with this report but just passing on some preventive maintenance on your car possibly. Don’t forget to check out your throttle and shifter cables. They do have problems and sometimes fail at the wrong time of the evening. With the week off you can start thinking about the schedule that will coming up starting in a few weeks. Thanks to all of you who travel and compete at all the races. My thoughts are that as a rookie driver you need to gain experience on the smaller tracks. This should improve your speed and driving ability if you fall into the inexperienced driver class. If you have been checking the National Points they are slow to be posted. I just noticed today that the I-25 schedule has been just added to the Colorado schedule. One thing to remember is you do have to have an 2014 INEX license to receive points and drive in the sanctioned races. Next weekend the racing returns to Colorado National Speedway and the following week of June 27-28 the racing returns to Gering, Nebraska and Cheyenne, Wyoming. |
