ROCKY MOUNTAIN LEGEND RACING ASSOCIATION

The first weekend of two nights of weekend racing came to and end on Sunday night with the completion of the twenty five lap main feature race. Twenty eight cars were on hand for the Sunday evening racing show. Twenty seven cars took the green flag for the feature. Ty Hunter’s evening was cut short as he blew his engine in his B Main Race. Greg O’Donnell suffered damage in his B-Main and worked hard in the pits on his car and took the green flag . Our feature had its share of problems with mufflers coming off three of the cars. Driver or car owners please make this one of your check points to look at during the week. New cars coming to Legends, make sure you check out your throttle cable and shifting linkage. These often become problems.
This weekend we had Robert Arroyo join us from Colorado Springs. He is driving the white # 21. He is new to auto racing and is looking forward to getting his car running up to speed. Make sure you introduce yourself to him, when he races next.
Zach Powell, of Colorado Springs. driving the # 73 race car raced both nights this weekend and I thought he did very well for only his third time on the track with a Legend race car.
Just a thought from me, but if you are having problems and new to Legend racing and need some help with your car or engine problem, don’t be afraid to ask for help. Our group prides itself with a lot of team work to keep our RMLRA the best there is. A lot of work went into repairing the # 07 car of Corey Seip on Friday night after the car came back to the Denver area from the races at I-25 Speedway. The guys worked some long hours to have the car ready foe Sunday’s races. Send me an e-mail and I will get you someone that will give you a helping hand.
From the Raceceiver official
Please make sure your Raceceiver is working. Last night several of the cars did not stay in line for the restarts. When the caution flag comes out you are entitled to keep your position on the track. Several of you moved out of the line up and moved to the back after the track had lined you up. The only time that the track will moved lap cars to the back is when there are less than five laps to go. If it your desire to go back to the back, please contact me and I will tell the track officials. This is not a major problem. One more thing that needs addressed is passing under the yellow stripe in the turns. Last night CNS track officials penalized several cars for this violation. Watch your restarts you may not attempt a pass until the green flag is out. I think there were a few cars that could of possibly been in this category. These are just my thoughts on how to improve our racing program.
We still have a few cars that have not been to the track this season and hope they will be with us this weekend. This weekends races at Gering, Nebraska and Cheyenne, Wyoming should have a few of their local drivers with us who do not travel with us.
This weekend we take our show on the road to Gering, Nebraska and Cheyenne, Wyoming. Phone numbers for local motels are Microtel 308-436-1950, Circle S 308-436-2157, Super 8 308-635-1600. My first choice on Motels is the Microtel, The name has changed back and forth from Microtel to Monument Inn. In case of bad weather while on the road to Gering is Lee @ 308-632-7154 or Sandy @ 308-631-2120. Lee is the track owner and Sandy is the track manager. The gates will open around 2:00 PM.
Hansen wins second straight feature
Jace Hansen, driving the # 08 Legend won his second straight Legend feature at CNS over Kyle Clegg, Jon Krizman, Darrell Stewart and David Miller. B- Main winners were Jace Hansen and Phil Peconi. Jace was on the outside front row and beat Phil Peconi to the first turn and was the car to beat last night. Kyle Clegg who had won the last two Legend features at I-25 Speedway battled Jon Krizman for second place.
A correction from a Newsletter after our last race at CNS. I stated that it was his first feature at CNS. It was his second and now he has three feature wins in Legend Racing at Colorado National Speedway. Last season he won many features, and will probably will win many more. Congratulations to the # 08 race team on your success. The rest of the field will be trying to hunt you down now that you have stepped forward in the past two races at CNS. The other correction is that Bill Yeros won the trophy dash at I-25 on Friday night. In my previous Newsletter I had Kyle Clegg as the trophy dash winner. Sorry for the errors.
INEX License Applications
Just received this information from Larry Lambert our Tech Official.
After going through my e-mail today, INEX tells me that everyone that is sending in for a license needs to have a copy of the check and application to be able to race from now on. They feel everyone has had ample time to get them in even though they can’t get them processed right away
.Thanks everyone for a good weekend of racing.
